Well, I wrote a 90 page thesis and today, my second reader gave me three pages of random and sporadic criticism. Which is still more than my advisor gave me during the whole process. What a sad and sorry experience that turned out to be.

When I was gardening, I bought a catnip plant for Tiger. This was both fun and devious, as it makes him really happy and is also very funny to watch. So here's my kitty eating it:
Mmmmm catnip
Tiger kept eating, and Tucker started rolling around nearby, reluctant for anyone to be dopier than he is:
The two boys being silly
And here's Tiger, drunk and high:
My drunk kitty
Here's Tucker, being my sweet idiot baby:
Tucker the fool
Thanks for indulging me with the pictures of my babies! :-)

I'd better do something different--one person found me today searching "short hot skirt pics" and another by searching "big breasts sexy." Is that all I talk about??

Here's the garden after I planted forever! Just a little piece of it is done but I think it looks pretty.

First fireflies were out tonight! I haven't caught one yet, but they sure do look pretty in the evening.

I bought When Harry Met Sally with an old gift card I found while cleaning out my room. I am pleased. I also found out there is a country bar on Long Island, complete with mechanical bull. There really aren't words, and I can't wait to go!

Shopped for garden plants today with my Mom. The nursery was beautiful, with gorgeous plants and fountains and windchimes. We managed to escape without a fountain. Maybe I'll post pictures of the garden once I've planted it--Mom has a broken thumb so I'm in charge. ;-) We'll see how long it takes to actually get done! We also got catnip plants and I gave a leaf to the cat today...he ate it, then came in and PASSED OUT. He's still snoring next to me.

Looking forward to this weekend!! :-)

Thanks, Bright, here I go again! ;-)

The band that was at Finley's on Saturday night kicked ass. They played everything, all the hits, and it was terrific. Interesting to see faces from the past as well. It's impossible to walk around this town without seeing everyone we've known forever.

I love my New York friends. You guys are awesome, and I love getting lunch and chatting on the phone and reading in my family room or outside and eating cake and jumping in the pool. Without y'all, I don't know how I'd deal with missing the Dartmouth people so much!

Yawn. Must catchphrase soon...

We went out on the boat today and took her in toward the city. We went all the way in to the Throgsneck Bridge! It was pretty awesome. Heading toward the New York City skyline forced us to be contemplative. It's just not the same anymore, and I don't even recognize it without its towers. I mean, yeah, there's the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building and the CityGroup building, and I know them, but the skyline just looks empty these days. I miss them.

Happy Father's Day, all, I hope you're having as yummy a dinner as I am.

Using Tom may be a copout, Brightski, but I'll give it to you.

Lessee. First week back. As of this moment I have put four things in the mail to various sick/hurt/in the middle of nowhere friends. None of these have been thank you notes for graduation presents. Oops. My wonderful Nana has decided to share some of her money while she's around to see the good it does--which I think is a fabulous idea and much more fun than a regular will. I think I'll block most of it off and direct it to the "Christine eating while she slaves for rich kids" fund. ;-) But it seems like such a cool present should go to something cool as well. Hmm...

I have been sleeping a ton. I've filled 4 trashcans and 2 baskets of give-away so far. I also rearranged all of the downstairs shelves. I love micro-managing! I read another book today, Liars and Thieves, a relatively typical spy drama. I'm a sucker for this stuff. A moth just landed on my foot, which is as good a sign as any that it's time to turn out the lights!

:-Pthhhh.

I am unpacking, beginning to write letters to people (although I may officially be the world's slowest correspondent now), sketching out a story I'd like to write, reading the Gift of Fear and the Elegant Gathering (I'll post on WRWF eventually about them) and the Tipping Point, and hanging with the fam.

If you haven't seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith, go now. Today. Really. Guns, explosions, beautiful people. As Care leaned over and whispered, "This may be the best foreplay I've ever had."

And I may be the world's worst pool player. At least Mere and Vac are down there scraping the barrel floor with me. ;-)

I am not a college student anymore. This is very depressing. I did something dumb earlier and said, "I go Dartmouth!" but that was a lie. :-(

Now here's the post I promised, even though lots of you never said hello. People have checked in from almost all the states, England, Poland, India, Morocco, and Malaysia. And here are some of the searches that got them here:
"flexitarian"
"romantic relationship progressing"
"www.hot sexys model" -# 5 on yahoo
"brigit the midget" -(I have no idea, really)
"barefoot feet grody"
"6 Pack Stomachs" -# 4 on yahoo
"short skirt sexys"
"briermere farm, pie" -number 1 on yahoo. clearly i talk about pie too much...although that IS good pie.
"daniel villasenor" -this is a crime--he should be well known, he's so awesome..but my site pops up when you search for him
"irritating boss sayings"
"fucking Dartmouth mothers" -woooooow
"young girl lifeguards showing to [sic] much" -...
"red headed lezzies"

I'm not sure how MOST of those got connected to me, but it sure is funny to picture how annoyed people are when they get me instead of "brigit the midget" or "red headed lezzies." Odd. Very odd.

I'm back...and already missing Dartmouth a ton, as good as it is to be home at first. But it's not the place I'll miss, really, it's all about the people.

I miss you!

"If this were a horror movie, I'd be the only one to survive, because *I'M* a virgin." Brightski, while we were walking through dark creepy woods and then deserted eerily lit parking lots. Said quite smugly, and very self-satisfied. Soo funny.

I'm making the most of this last time at Dartmouth. Hung out on the Green with Annie for a while today, and then Missa joined us. We read and chatted and got a little tan, which was nice. Got a yummmmy bagel at the bagel store. (Side note: I have discovered so many wonderful things during the last few weeks. It's driving me nuts that I didn't know them longer. Like, it's incredibly easy to rent DVDs from the library, and they have tons. The bagel store has cinnamon sugar bagels without raisins, which is the best idea ever. I love Jewel of India, and Indian food in general. WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THIS STUFF SOONER??) Went to a sex talk at Theta--elementary, didn't learn anything new, but it was still funny. Senior Tales with Missa and Bright, saw a bunch of people I hadn't in a while and lots of Thetas. Then we hung out with Bright, Annie, and Missa and went down to Tom Dent cabin with a bunch of random people to hear some guitar music. Now I'm going to watch a movie with Mark.

And the other night, we had a night of Contact and Catch-phrase and Balderdash that was awesome. Andrea (the host), Vy, Bright, Mark, Tasha, Lis, Jeeves, Carl, and Chris L. (hadn't seen him in forever!) all played for a long time. I LOVE smart people; it is probably what I'll miss most about being in college. Random word games and fun facts and people who learn like they breathe, naturally and constantly (and enjoyably!). I am already going through withdrawal. I'm going to miss it so much.

(Reward post will be next, if you're good. ;-))

ROLL CALL!

Who ARE you? Since everyone's graduated the people reading this have switched around, as far as I can guess from the cities looking at this. But there's still a bunch of people looking. Leave a comment if you're reading and let me know who all is reading this thing anyway. I know there are a bunch of people from this school--Bright? Andrea? Who else, I know there are some randoms? Who's in Illinois? I'm guessing Morocco is Jameson :-) How about Virginia, who are you? Drew, is that you in CT? Alissa, I haven't seen DC in a while! You on vacation? Who's in California?

You don't need an account to leave a comment, just say hi. As a reward, I'll post some of the great searches that people have used to find me (and I think mostly have been disappointed by!). C'mon, bribe me. ;-)

My last final ever is at 8am tomorrow.

I don't know whether to be psyched or miserable! I am having a severe case of "aaaah I should have just gone to grad-school-itis."

Either way, I'm procrastinating. And it's Friday night, which ought to mean something but doesn't. I'm jealous of the people off taking a "road trip" (even if I don't think a flight and a six hour drive counts!), and the people done with finals, and anyone who can work without surfing the net for ten hours first. Weeee.

Hanover in the late spring is idyllic. Today I watched Bright play in her concert on Baker Lawn, went to an ice cream social on the Green, and had a lovely long talk with Annie in the shade outside Sanborn. Days like this make it worth the winters. I love it here; I'm not ready to leave!!

PS I know, I've been a very bad blogger. Sorry to make you all have to do some work. ;-)
