83 page draft in for advisor's perusal...whew. I am a tired girl, and I'm sick of reading my own writing! Getting very hard to focus. So close to being officially finished though! So close!

Out of ideas! Out of steam! Out of energy! I got to the library at 3 and am still here at 1:30! Took a break to walk to foco and get dinner to go and then just now to get chicken nuggets before it closed. wah! wah! Entertain me or something. Jeez, you're just sitting there.

I DELETED one chapter, RIPPED apart another, and am now trying to put humpty-dumpty back together again. My advisor would like a finished draft, by tomorrow please, so it may be one more late night.

I keep talking about all the things I'm going to do when this is over. Go to the movies, rent movies, print photos in the lab, shoot photos, go to the greenhouse, Dartmouth 7, start running again, cook lots, have a bbq, see all the people I haven't seen this term, write the letters I've been meaning to all term, lie out on the Green, etc etc. But we all know that I'm really just going to SLEEP.

In other news, BRIGHT PASSED HER SWIM TEST! SHE'S GOING TO GRADUATE! Yippee, and I helped! (Self-call!!!) Hope y'all are having better weeks than I am!

Happy Birthday Andrea 5/14 and Jameson 5/19.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Ok, back on track. Don't have to redo it, I overreacted. Mark is totally fabulous and kept me sane. Additionally, he ran into my prof and had a conversation that, in conjunction with one of my chapters, helped to clarify my ideas to the prof. So I have a lot of work to do, but I'm not starting from scratch!

Advisor wants me to reconceptualize my argument. I fell apart at the seams and wailed for a little while, then tried to figure out what that meant. Still trying, sitting next to Mark, who ran out and bought the SparkNotes Atlas and about 8 books on economics and capitalism so he could help me counter advisor's Marxist arguments. I'm at a loss still...but it's always good to be supported!

Sigh.

Sleeping in public places, part II:
Fell asleep outside working at a table. Woke up to switch the sides of my face that were getting burned, occasionally, but when I roused myself for the final time I had flashcards stuck to my face.

I am SO cool. Annie laughed at me.

Me: "Hello, pot? This is kettle."
Care: No no. It's hello kettle.
Me: Who cares which way?
Care: But it's backwards!!
Me: SO??
Care: The pot calls the kettle!!

And indeed the child is right, the pot does call the kettle. Sheesh, I never took it that literally! But...never let the truth get in the way of a good story. ;-)

"...Rand's ridiculously exaggerated adoration of strong male figures betrays the underlying disavowed lesbian economy, i.e. the fact that Dominique and Roark, or Dagny and Galt, are effectively lesbian couples." Slavoj Zizek, Lacanian Ink 12.

Clearly I am not smart enough to wade through this much bullshit and even pretend to make rational arguments. ???
